It’s our hope that as the kids are frolicking during these hot summer months, that the teachers who nurture their minds are taking a moment to take a break. After all, you deserve it! Sure, our parents, family and friends helped to get us where we are today, but everyone here, or anyone who is out there making an honest living, well, we’re doing in large part thanks to you, the teachers! That being said, Thanks!
It’s also clear though that your job is a tad bit different than it was in the days of Norman Rockwell (see to the right), but it doesn’t make it any less important. In the profession of mental health we often say that “You can’t take care of others, if you don’t take care of yourself first”. That’s true for us, and it’s likely true for you in many ways. So as the summer months reach the halfway point please be sure to take a break and “take care of you.” To give you a little boost we’ve included a link to some ways that resilience can assist when the stress starts to mount. Doing this in a preemptive manner may help prepare you for the stressors that could arise during this school year.
Again, thanks for all you do each and every day and we can honestly stay, that we wouldn’t be where we are with out you.
